Smooth, Controlled Sharpening with Great Results
I’ve used a few different sharpeners before (including electric ones), and this rolling system felt a bit different at first, but in a good way.
There was definitely a small learning curve in the beginning. The biggest thing I realized is that how you position the knife really matters, especially with thinner blades. Once I got used to placing it properly on the magnetic base and following a consistent sequence (starting with the diamond disc, then moving to ceramic, and finishing with the strop), the results became much more consistent.
The sharpening itself feels smooth and controlled. The 600 grit brings back the edge nicely, and the 3000 grit refines it well. One thing I noticed was that after sharpening, the edge felt a bit rough or slightly serrated, but after using the leather strop, it made a big difference. The blade became much smoother and cleaner, almost like a polished finish.
The Zipper case is also really handy for keeping everything together.
One improvement I’d suggest is adding clear stroke guidance in the instructions, like how many passes per side and when to switch discs. That would make it even easier for beginners.
Overall, once you get past the initial learning phase, it’s a very satisfying and reliable sharpening system.
